Cherry Beach Sports Fields: Fun Docks At Toronto’s Port Lands

I just got back from my first bike ride of the season, and I can confirm it’s definitely a cold spring day in Toronto. Although many will say that it’s ALWAYS a cold spring day in Toronto. Not too many people out on the Martin Goodman Trail today, but that will change once the weather warms up a little. I just hope the feeling in my hands returns soon!
Spent some time spinning around the Cherry Beach Sports Fields; the WATERFRONToronto revitalization project at Port Lands is quite impressive. Very soon Toronto soccer and lacrosse teams will once again be playing on elite sports fields.
I thought I’d share a few pictures of what’s interesting off-field on a chilly March afternoon.
Look what’s docked just north of the fields:

Why, it’s a pirate-themed ship just waiting to be boarded! It may look like an abandoned ship has sailed into Toronto Harbour, but I’ll bet you a treasure chest full of gold that warmer weather will bring out this ship’s crew.
See you on board, matey!
