Everybody’s got to live somewhere, right? And it shouldn’t be difficult to describe where you live (or so you’d think!). But ask any two Toronto neighbours to identify the name and boundaries of their neighbourhood and you just might … might … get two very different answers. Or not. Better still, check out how Toronto real estate agents describe your neighbourhood and see if you agree (read: I live where??).

Some Toronto neighbourhood names are entrenched; others are more recently coined and only time will tell if these names will endure, or fade away to be replaced by those considered more meaningful as neighbourhoods evolve.
The Map of the Week folks have taken on the ambitious task of creating a comprehensive map of Toronto neighbourhoods. There’s nothing static about this map, as we all have the opportunity to send them back to the drawing mapping board with our comments and suggestions.
I know this map will be useful in my work as a Toronto real estate agent. And I know I’ll refer to it often when I want to figure out exactly where I got lost on my latest bike ride throughout the City.
