Toronto Walloped By Heavy Snow, I’m Taking A Day!

It was just beautiful, one of the best Toronto snowfalls in a long time. Nowhere to go, nowhere to hide, it barreled in.

Stayed indoors, but if I’d had my cross-country skis at the house instead of still in storage, I would have been last seen gliding through the streets of my Toronto neighbourhood. Seriously, if someone can snowmobile down the middle of a Toronto city street, it’s okay for all other Nordic sports.

Toronto, Just Outside the Door

Here are a couple of pictures: my real estate ride, still to be dug out, I may just wait for the January thaw.Snowy Toronto Ride

I also wanted to share a timely news release that was just posted by Toronto Police Service on “Safety tips for winter driving, Traffic Services”. What I thought was a very interesting point was that the tires are the most important part of the car; they’re (obviously) the only part of the car that touches the ground. You don’t drive the car, you drive the tires. Be sure they’re properly inflated. A very Bedrock image comes to mind, no?

The other is on the patio. I often use the phrase “the sprinkles on my cupcake”, sometimes jokingly and sometimes very literally.

Wintertime CupcakeI just loved the look of this flower barrel on the patio. It wasn’t that long ago that it was filled with herbs and bunny tails.

This is my wintertime cupcake; perfect in its lopsidedness.

Happy shoveling and safe driving, Toronto!
